9° Conferencia Internacional Instituto Iberoamericano del Bowen Center
Conversación con Kathleen Cotter Cauley sobre cómo identificar, navegar y comprender los triángulos relacionales en los sistemas familiares y organizacionales.
Los triángulos se observan en todas partes, tanto en los sistemas humanos como en la naturaleza, pero al principio pueden ser difíciles de ver. En situaciones de alta ansiedad, se manifiestan en la familia o las organizaciones. Esto sucede conforme todos los participantes intentan regularse y calmarse. Se necesita tiempo y conocimiento teórico para ver los triángulos, moverse en ellos y aceptarlos como una guía para la observación de uno mismo y de los demás en el sistema.
La presentación incluirá información sobre la teoría de Bowen, ejemplos prácticos y amplio espacio para el debate. La conferencia será en inglés con traducción consecutiva al español.

KATHLEEN COTTER CAULEY, MED, Lmft
Kathleen Cotter Cauley is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Florida, Virginia, and the District of Columbia and has a private practice in Falls Church, VA. She joined the Bowen Center faculty in 2012 and chairs the Social Media and Outreach Committees there.
Ms. Cauley worked with Catholic Charities in Pittsburgh, PA, 1972-1985, as an adoption caseworker, therapist, and deputy director of a branch office. She received her master’s degree in counselor education at the University of Pittsburgh in 1977. In 1980, while at Catholic Charities, she sought out a supervisor who had trained at the Bowen Center. She attended the training program at the Western Pennsylvania Family Center in the 1980s.
Ms. Cauley had a private practice in Tampa, FL, where she lived, 1985-2001. She continues to work in this practice in a remote capacity. She was involved in founding the Florida Family Research Network with other Bowen colleagues. Ms. Cauley was on the faculty of the Extraordinary Leadership Seminars, 2003-2016. She continues to coach in the Systems Leadership Seminar with people who attended three years in the Extraordinary Leadership Seminars.
She has been a member of the review board dealing with the sex abuse scandals of the Catholic Church for the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, FL, since 2002. Ms. Cauley was also a member of the Maryland Province Jesuit review board, 2006-2015. She has volunteered for Southeastern Guide Dogs Inc. since 1990.
