Separating a Self
Kathleen B. Kerr, MSN, MA
Bowen theory suggests that the goal of therapy is "to help individual family members to rise up out of the emotional togetherness that binds us." This goal is based on the observation that the symbiotic interdependence between people is what fuels reactivity and emotional distance in relationships, and symptoms in individuals. This clinical conference will present the efforts of people to separate themselves from their family emotional systems and direct their own lives more from within themselves.
When: 9:30-3:30
Where: Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church
