The Family History Database Project

This is a compilation of multiple multigenerational family histories into one database. This database, when amassed, will be available for researchers to use. Currently the project is in the pilot stage. Forty-four participants are entering their family history data into a computer program. A user’s guide is being prepared which will direct participants how to code certain data for easy access for researchers. When participants have entered and coded all their data they will contribute it to the project. Anonymity of the data will be preserved.

This database will permit research on many questions including the possibility of confirming the concept of the multigenerational transmission process. Current coordinators of the project are Patricia Comella, Kathleen Kerr, and Louise Rauseo. For information about participating in the project, please contact Kathleen Kerr at research@thebowencenter.org.
