Campaign for the Future:
The
Annual Fund and Capital Campaign
The Center has begun a five year fundraising campaign with both annual and capital goals. Those goals are to:
- Seek funds for the maintenance and ongoing operation of the Center
- Regularize the income of the Center and stabilize its financial operation overall, and
- Secure the future of the Center through capital improvements to better accommodate the teaching atmosphere and the technological capacity of the Center, and through long-term financial planning

The five-year Annual Fund:
Seeks funds for the maintenance and ongoing operations of the Center. As with all educational institutions, the Bowen Center needs to be fully staffed to sustain its programming and grow. Continued shortfalls in annual giving are having an impact on our programs. We need to raise $125,000 per year in our annual fund to supplement the maximum income we can raise from tuition and fees.
Seeks to regularize the income of the Center and stabilize the financial operation overall. The income of the Center fluctuates, based on incoming tuition and fees. This fluctuation can strain the finances of the Center so that it has difficulty meeting its expenses in some months. Being able to predict income based on five year pledges allows the Center to make decisions of how to best plan for its programming needs.
The Capital Fund secures the Center’s future through improvements in our technological capacity and long-term financial planning.
Your pledge to the Capital Fund will be used to renovate our classroom, which will be named in memory of Dr. Roberta Holt, our dedicated faculty member and program leader. Planned improvements include:
- New technology, including a digitally interactive smart board with projector, and a new sound system for programs
conducted by webcast.
- New video camera capable of downloading to a hard drive for best utilization and distribution of our presentations and programs.
- New furnishings and lighting for comfort and ease of use.
These improvements will allow us to meet or exceed current classroom technology standards as well as to use the most effective technology to make it possible for Bowen theory to be heard in the world.
Other planned uses of the Capital Campaign Fund include:
- Preparing for future technological needs, such as computers and other upgrades required to remain current with technological advances
- Improving offices used for supervision in the postgraduate training program and clinical work with families
- Contributing its proportionate share of renovations and maintenance of the common elements of the 4400 MacArthur Condominium as determined by the Condominium’s Board of Directors
- Retiring the mortgage. This will allow us to eliminate interest and concentrate funds on our programs. It will also help the Center better withstand economic fluctuations
Contributing to the Campaign for the Future:
Please use our downloadable pledge card or online donation page to make a donation. Our forms offer a pledge option to maintain your selected level of giving to the Annual Fund, Capital Campaign, or both funds over a five year period. The online donation option allows you to structure your donation in quarterly or monthly segments.
The Center is pleased to recognize your pledge on our website and in print. Five year pledges of total amounts of $1,000 and above will receive special gifts of thanks. Learn more about Levels of Giving on our Ways of Giving page.
For tax purposes, December 31 is the last day to make a charitable donation for the tax year.
