Differentiation of Self:
A Journey of Discovery

Careful observation is an important step in the process of differentiation of self. This clinical conference will feature a presentation and discussion of the importance of observation: observation of emotional process in the family, of one's own reactivity and its impact, of one's part in triangles, and of changes in functioning that are part of progress. The videotaped interviews will illustrate the value of being a better observer.

Reflections on the Triangle Concept:
Theory and Clinical Applications

Triangles are the web through which emotional process is transmitted and maintained at all levels of human functioning. This presentation will be describe the historical evolution of the triangle concept and present clinical applications of detriangling with an absent family member such as in single-parent families and families in which a significant member has died.
