January Clinical Conference

will present Defining a Self at the January 9, 2009 Clinical Conference.

Thursday Professional Lecture Series
Aviad Haramati, PhD will present Is Caregiving Hazardous to One’s Health? on January 8, 2009.
Dr. Haramati is a Professor of Physiology, Biophysics and Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. A special panel of medical experts will be led by Dr. Kerr at this meeting.

The Thursday Professional Lecture Series
is a free, monthly lecture series which is open to the public. It features historians, scientists, and clinicians. View/print brochure.

Spring Conference
Societies, Families, and Mother Earth: Exploring the Connections is the title for the Spring Conference to be held at Georgetown University in Washington, DC on April 18-19, 2009.

Symposium
The 45th Annual Symposium was held on
November 7-8, 2008. DVDs, MP3s and Audiotapes of the Symposium are available for sale. The complete DVD set of the Symposium is $265 until March 1st 2009. (save $50). Please allow one month for completion of production and delivery.

Murray Bowen,MD
Dr. Bowen, a professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University, established the Georgetown Family Center in 1975. He was a pioneer in family research who developed a new theory of human behavior and a new method of family therapy based on this new theory.

Welcome to the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family and the Georgetown Family Center
The mission of the Center is to lead the development of Bowen family systems theory into a science of human behavior and to assist individuals, families, communities, and organizations in solving major life problems through understanding and improving human relationships. The Center carries out its mission locally, nationally, and internationally through its training programs, conferences, research, clinical services, and publications. The Georgetown Family Center is an educational, research and clinical center incorporated as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the District of Columbia.
